    In the past, the people of India have relied mainly on plant-based Indian diets for weight loss, which focuses on a balanced diet consisting of an adequate amount of lean proteins, fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy fats and a limited amount of healthy carbohydrates.

    • Always have your meals on time. Don’t skip meals. Most Indian families have a late dinner, eating dinner late in the evening often aids in weight gain since the metabolism slows down at night. Always have your dinner by 7/8 pm.
     
    • Stick to whole, unprocessed, raw foods including seasonal fruits, vegetables and salads. Eating salad sometimes before meals helps to limit your overall food intake at meal times.
     
    • Say no to artificial sugar, sweets, packaged, fried, processed foods, sugary drinks, and sodas.
